BOSTON ROOTS

One Company. A Focused Agile Training Practice.

Boston Agile Training is the Agile training practice of Cape Project Management, Inc. Cape was established in Boston in 2010 to help organizations improve project and product performance through practical training, consulting, and delivery experience.

The Boston Agile Training name makes that specialization clear: private Agile education for organizations and corporate teams across Greater Boston, with live virtual delivery available for distributed groups.

The company relationship remains visible because the experience, reputation, and performance-first philosophy behind the training come from Cape Project Management.

FOUNDER & LEAD INSTRUCTOR

Dan Tousignant

Dan is a lifelong project manager, consultant, and trainer with decades of experience helping organizations improve project and product performance.

His Agile experience began with a Scrum implementation in 2000—before Agile became an industry of frameworks, credentials, and transformation programs. Since then, his work has spanned team delivery, project and program leadership, product requirements, engineering and quality practices, coaching, and organizational change.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His training combines the structure participants need with the real-world judgment that only comes from applying the ideas in complex organizations.

INSTRUCTOR & ENTERPRISE TRANSFORMATION COACH

Todd Kamens

Todd is an enterprise transformation coach and Agile trainer with more than 25 years of experience helping organizations adopt Scrum, strengthen team performance, and navigate the human side of change.

His work spans healthcare, financial services, government, and technology organizations. He has trained and coached technical teams, business teams, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, managers, and executives—from small organizations to enterprise divisions with thousands of people.

Todd holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Operations Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His experience building Agile practices, coaching leaders, and supporting teams from foundational adoption through advanced improvement brings an important organizational perspective to the training.

EXPERIENCE THAT SHAPES THE TRAINING

Enterprise transformation

Experience helping leaders and teams move from initial Agile adoption toward sustainable organizational practice.

Scrum and Kanban training

Live training and coaching for technical and business audiences across organizations of very different sizes.

Change that lasts

Agile playbooks, maturity assessments, leadership alignment, and centers of excellence designed to support continued improvement.

THE TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

Performance First. Methodology in Service of the Work.

Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, traditional, or hybrid—the approach should help people make better decisions and improve delivery. It should never become the mission itself.

PRACTICAL

Use It at Work

Connect every concept to the decisions, interactions, products, projects, and constraints participants face in the workplace.

CANDID

Teach the Reality

Explain what the framework expects, what organizations often struggle with, and where judgment and adaptation are required.

ADAPTABLE

Fit the Organization

Preserve the integrity of useful practices while shaping emphasis and examples around the environment in which they must work.

A BROAD DELIVERY PERSPECTIVE

Connect the Framework to the Whole System of Work

Effective Agile training cannot stop at ceremonies. It must connect product direction, team behavior, engineering quality, leadership, governance, and organizational reality.

Project and Program Delivery

Planning, risk, dependencies, stakeholders, governance, vendors, budgets, and complex delivery environments.

Product and Requirements

Vision, roadmaps, backlogs, Product Ownership, user stories, prioritization, refinement, and feedback.

Teams and Leadership

Self-management, collaboration, coaching, facilitation, sponsorship, management support, and organizational alignment.

Engineering and Quality

Built-in quality, testing strategy, automation, Definition of Done, technical practices, and sustainable delivery.

Agile and Flow

Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP, iterative delivery, continuous improvement, and fit-for-purpose combinations.

Organizational Change

Readiness, culture, controls, implementation choices, adoption challenges, and practical improvement planning.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Training Designed for Thoughtful Application

Participants should leave with more than notes and terminology. They should understand why the practices work, where they fit, and what better decisions look like in their environment.

Clear Instruction

A structured explanation of the principles, practices, responsibilities, and decisions participants need to understand.

Real Discussion

Room for questions, competing perspectives, organizational realities, and the situations that do not have textbook answers.

Practical Next Steps

Exercises, tools, shared language, and improvement priorities participants can carry into their work.
